Beekeeping is one of the most amazing and interesting hobbies existing. Beekeeping is also a very important agricultural activity. Pests and diseases have caused a loss of bees in the United States and it affects everyone. 1/3 or more of what is on your plate every meal is affected either directly or indirectly by beekeeping.
More beekeepers are needed to make sure we have the bee populations we need to grow our crops in the United States. If you are interested, I invite and encourage you to find out more by contacting your local county agricultural extension office or local beekeeper club. There are people available that are willing to help you learn the art of beekeeping.
